Message I connected a multimeter between the negative terminal and lead. With the hood open (hood switch up), it reads about 0.096A. After about 15-20 seconds, it settles down to 0.086A. I then started pulling the fusible links by the battery
there were no changes until I pulled the one that goes to LTG (lighting). It then drops to 0.029A. Not sure if this is acceptable for still too high. I put the LTG link back in and it goes back to 0.086A. I then shifted to my main fuse box and pulled the 10A theft fuse first. Once I pulled the theft fuse, it dropped to 0.029A. I pulled the LTG link as well but it stays at 0.029A. I put the LTG back in with the theft fuse out and it stays at 0.029A. I then put the theft fuse back in and it goes back to 0.086A. With the hood switch down, it goes down to 0.052A. Does this mean the circuit is in my lighting or in my alarm? I'm assuming my alarm since my alarm ties into my lighting correct? I'm guessing my pulling either the fuse or the link, it is disabling my alarm somewhere which is removing the main source of parasitic draw.

Could I just leave the fuse out and drive my car without the use of an alarm for now?

Never Play Leapfrog With A Unicorn!!!

Do yourself a favor and just worry about your own car. I don't see what everyone is so worried about anyway. If someone else wants to perform a modification that you believe will destroy the value, cheapen the Z32 or whatever you can't sit on your hands about, wouldn't that make your tastefully-modified, white bread Z32 more rare and valuable? -- BradZ (FL) on December 23, 2007 at 12:19 PM
